All of the items presented here have been printed on my e3D Bigbox 3D printer, each picture can be clicked to enlarge the image. whenever possible I will include the link to item so you can print one if you so desire. I will also provide my Print settings and actual print time along with filament used and how much was needed along with any other details that my help others with the same print.

All the filament used was from www.filaments.ca they are located in Toronto, Canada they manufacture several lines of filament under the Filaments.ca label and they also sell other well known brands of filament. I have no deals with Filaments.ca, I pay whatever the going price is for my filament and I have used filament from other providers as well, That out of the way I can tell you that I have had absolutely no issues with filaments from them. No tangles, size issues (all within 1.75mm spec), color variations or order/delivery issues (well that time Canada post delivery sent my package to my neighbor with a similar address doesn't count as the neighbor brought over it to me themselves). Since I have ordered and printed (at last count) over 40+ rolls in different materials and colors of filament from Filaments.ca I do recommend them, especially if you live Canada (No import Duties to deal with). see picture below for my PLA collection/evidence, my PETG rolls are not nearly as organized as they reside on shelves under my printer. All of the items printed below have the amount of plastic required to print the item based on the slicer software. I have also included the amount of Hours each project should have taken to print based on the slicer software.

I often have people ask how long to print a certain object or how much would I charge to print them an item, I decided a charge of $1 per printing hour taken plus the cost of the plastic, if assembly, glue or other items are required you will see a total cost with each item that reflects this.

Unless specifically mentioned all printing was done with these setting:

  • Layer Height .02 mm
  • Print speed 50 mm/s
  • Nozzle .04 mm
  • PLA 1.75 mm
  • 4 Layers thick
  • 20% In-fill
  • No Raft
  • No Supports

The Companion Cube is from the game Portal so it's easily recognizable for those of us who have played this popular game, it was designed by Ollie Norris and it looks great, it uses a total of 32 gears which actually fully rotate. Admittedly it is a little hard to rotate around with so many gears but it does rotate fully.

PLA in every color I Have! This is a great test to level your bed, you'll see the difference in overall width/size of the chaimail links as it prints the first layer. I used this print to really level the bed, it was close but this print is great for really dialing it in!

Fill OrientationOffset: 0 (instead of 45) // this allows bridging on the female end
Make sure that supports, and raft, are disabled as they will cause problems.

I tweaked this design using Tinkercad after printing one. I noticed people couldn't tell at first which part was the front so I made some headlights and added a window to help things out, lastly I also added some exhausts to the rear to finish the design.

This was originally a one piece print with non-rotating wheels using Tinkercad I sliced it into 2 parts then swapped out the wheels for rotating wheels. after printing one I noticed the steering wheel was very easy to break so I redesigned the steering wheel and shifters to be stronger with more support built-in to the model

Nuke Fidget Spinner by biline

This was a design that changed from a simple circular spinner with no bearing to one that used 5/16 nuts to add weight when spinning. I then added some caps for the nuts and eventually decided to round out the side with the nuts to end up with the final design. The first ones were done with Tinkercad and the final design I used Fusion 360
