Currently Available Xmod Upgrades

Upgrades can be classified into two classes 'Stock' and 'Aftermarket', 'Stock' would be any part that is available from your local Radio Shack and 'Aftermarket' is basically everything else. The upgrades from Radio Shack are all listed below (prices are in U.S. funds).

Metal Bearing Upgrade

These replace the nylon bushings that come with the base car. I suggest that this is the first upgrade you should perform and the sooner the better as the nylon bushing will wear quickly and once they do the holes will get larger then they should be and will make installation of this kit difficult because the bearing won't fit as well as it should.

Wheel Upgrade

This wheel kit contains three different sets of wheels to dress up your car, other than cosmetic they provide no other improvements over the base wheels that came with your car

Stage 2 Motor Kit

Motors are labeled as 30,000 rpm The gears are pressed on so they give you a motor for each gear set. It comes with 4 motors with the following pinion gears and matching drive gears 8 tooth, 9 tooth, 10 tooth and 11 tooth. these motors also run hotter so a Metal heat sink mount has been included

All-Wheel Drive Kit

This is a must have kit, it effectively turns your car into AWD and this will allow for faster take-offs and much improved handling (if you start playing with motor combinations that have more torque it stops the rear wheels from just spinning in place!). It replaces some of front axle assembly and provides a rear 'Slip differential' gear to make the XMod all-wheel drive

Body Kits

The kit shown in the picture is for the Acura RSX but kits are available for all the models each kit Includes two sets of front and rear bumpers, wings, side skirts and one carbon fiber hood. You also get a rear exhaust pipe and a replacement radio wheel

Stage 1 Motor Kit

Motors are labeled as 26,000 rpm which is the same rpm as the stock motor. The gears are pressed on so they give you a motor for each gear set. It comes with 4 motors with the following pinion gears and matching drive gears 8 tooth, 9 tooth, 10 tooth and 11 tooth

Foam Tire Upgrade Kit

Includes a set of wheels, foam tires, plastic wheel nuts and some double sided tape to mount the tires onto the rims to prevent slipping, this kit is good for carpet and very smooth racing surfaces, these rims will only work with the foam tires

Tire Upgrade Kit

This upgrade Includes 16 tires, 8 of them are slicks and the other 8 have a tread pattern, each set comes in 2 types 'soft' and 'regular'. The soft ones wear quicker but provide a really good grip on smoother surfaces while the regular ones seem better suited to outdoor pavement

Suspension and Steering Upgrade Kit

This upgrade can vastly improve the handling of your car, the kit Includes replacement shocks with three different spring sets red-soft, yellow-medium and blue-firm. You also get three tie rods a 1.5 degree and a 3.0 and 4.5 degree these shorten the turning radius your car makes but also affect how straight the car travels

Crystal Kit

This kit Includes enough crystals for an additional 6 channels or racing. This combined with the stock channels makes a total of 12 different frequencies which should make for some great mayhem if 12 of you get together

Light Kit

This is a cosmetic upgrade but it's well worth the cost as it really brings your car to life! It plugs right into a connector on the chassis so NO soldering is required. The headlights go bright when throttle is applied. and the Tail lights go bright when you apply the brakes. the lights go off when radio or car is shut off

Wheel Upgrade #2

This wheel kit contains three different sets of wheels to dress up your car, other than cosmetic they provide no other improvements over the base wheels that came with your car (this particular wheel kit seems to be hard to find)

These upgrades are the Newly released Upgrades that I've seen recently on Radio Shack and The SourceCC websites.

Decal Kits this is one of two different sets that I've seen

XMODS Custom RC Aluminum Wheel Kit

A transparent Main Chassis with Carbon-Fiber Decks

This is a drift Kit
it contains 4 new rims with special tires designed for Drifters!

A new wheel kit with Brake rotors!

This weird looking device is the Ground Effects upgrade it will give you that Neon glow from under your Xmod

Now for the aftermarket upgrades just visit any of the Xmod part dealers listed below to get an idea of what is being offered through the Internet. I would like to mention that some of the upgrades will require soldering and a good knowledge of Xmods. Some individuals claim to have broken the 30Mph barrier with these upgrades!
